We are a fan-run Lord of the Rings group that promotes fellowship through gatherings at various conventions and events throughout the year

Our first gathering was at Dragon*Con in 2004. Soon afterwards, the group merged with the Southeastern Tolkien Fellowship. Since then, AoME has attended several events such as ChattaCon, ORC and The Georgia Rennaisance Festival

Members of AoME are individuals that share a common interest in the Lord of the Rings series, and in lasting fellowships. We are artists, costumers, students, parents and RINGERS.

Dragon*Con 2005September 2-5, 2005Atlanta, GA
This is our group's main focus. Most of us met here or live in the general area of the SouthEast. This year's features will include:
  • An Arms of Middle Earth Sign-Up / Check In table
  • "An Evening In Bree" Tolkien Party & Constume Contest, with house band Emerald Rose
  • Actor John Noble (Denethor)
  • Tolkien Track panels planned for Costuming, Middle Earth Trivia, Live-Action Role Playing and more.
  • ELF - 2005 August 26-28. 2005
    Orlando, FL
ORC goes East Coast. This is the first year for this convention, but it should be standard Creation fare, which means it's more focused on autograph sessions and actor panels. Expect to pay a premium for "Wizard Level" access to the celebrities, and spend a good deal of time waiting in lines.
  • Elijah Wood, Sean Astin (Sam) , Billy Boyd (Pippin) and John Noble (Denethor) are slated to appear
  • Costume Competition
  • Tengwar Lessons
  • Screening of the fan film "Dork of the Rings"
  • ORC - The One Ring ConventionJanuary 20-22, 2006 Pasadena, CA

Creation Entertainment and TheOneRing.net present ORC 2006: a full scale celebration designed with YOU in mind.

With multi-tracks of programming covering all aspects of Tolkien lore (including films, literature/scholar, illustration, costuming and our popular kids track), ORC 2006 promises to be inspirational, educational and most importantly FUN!

No specifics about 2006 yet, but this year they had Elijah Wood (Frodo), Sean Astin (Sam), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), Billy Boyd (Pippin) and John Rhys-Davies (Gimli/Treebeard).
    ChattaCon 2006January 20-22, 2006Chattanooga, TN
A smaller, more intimate convention that DragonCon, focused on the Art and Writers market. Mostly it's a get-together convention with a large costume contest. Very few panels, a couple of large dealers' rooms, and one very stocked 24-hour-a-day Con Suite. (Bill the Pony is praying for more Free Beer in 2006.)
